Proposed: Full Rights Amendment

Question:

"No person subject to the laws of the United States of America, or the laws of any state, shall be denied the rights, protections and privileges guaranteed by this Constitution."

1.  NO WELFARE OR OTHER ENTITLEMENTS, OR ANYTHING ELSE, FOR ILLEGAL ALIENS. 2.  As liberals now defy the Constitution, don’t count on reform concerning people’s rights under the Second Amendment, not only including prohibitions but "taxes" and procedures intended to infringe with acquiring and owning arms-related items.  Will I be able to buy a suppressor (wrongly called by idiots a "silencer" even though the discharge merely is reduced to around 140 dB with a centerfire gun from higher levels, and which makes a handgun less concealable than without it) off the shelf, without any hassles except possibly for being asked for ID to verify my age?  I doubt it, and if not, it shows hypocrisy by advocates of such an amendment. 3. This amendment amounts to little other than repeating the Fourteenth.  (There is no basis for trying to get more goodies for illegal immigrants, other than to add to the number of such people who vote Democratic in elections.)  The problem with the Fourteenth is that "equal protection" is highly abused by judicial activists, rather than insufficiently granting goodies to everyone by a Fairy Godmother.   Dave Simpson

Response:

It was asked: What makes you think non-citizens are deserving of the rights afforded by the constitution?

That way, more is annihilated by the Left, if not merely degraded.   Dave Simpson

Response:

"No person subject to the laws of the United States of America, or the laws of any state, shall be denied the rights, protections and privileges guaranteed by this Constitution."

Well, Nader has, after all, been among lefties calling for reduction of the voting age so that more children (of all ages) vote Green or Democrat, and an amendment like yours, more flowery than the Fourteenth, would guarantee real "children’s rights," even allowing for parents or guardians possibly the "right" to cast additional votes on behalf of their offspring who are, say, under age two.   Dave Simpson

Response:

The 14th Amendment addresses citizen rights. State and federal governments routinely deny Constitutional rights to non-citizens, from simple matters such as the right to representation at immigration hearings to the growing concern regarding "material witnesses" and "illegal combattants", citizen or no. I seek a way to correct these injustices.

It’s not unjust.  There always has been a difference between citizens and non-citizens (except to those who want higher Democratic vote totals in elections).   If you’re not a citizen, you are a guest, and still bound by the laws.  End of issue.   Whining about Guantanamo and being against the US here is pathological (diseased) behavior.   Dave Simpson

Response:

Hugh Gibbons See the 14th Amendment.

True.  And, the Fourteenth Amendment has been woefully abused by left-wing activists to seek equal outcomes, etc., rather than equal opportunity or (true) rights (as opposed to entitlements).   I’ve read some wacko "constitutional giant’s" writing that takes the Declaration of Independence, the Preamble (* snicker! *), and the Fourteenth Amendment and comes up with a legal argument for a guaranteed minimum income, etc..   Arrgh.   Nonsense like that still exists, and the same legal "reasoning," too.   (* gag *)   This amendment is not only a repetition of the Fourteenth but is a Trojan horse for all kinds of nonsense, extended to illegal-immigrant entitlements and all the rest.  (It is the destruction of citizenship and likely adulthood, and thereby the distinction between adult citizens and liberal-Democrat voters.)   Leave out the gay-marriage and non-married-couple-equality stuff (destruction of marriage as is known and recognized by all but the activists); leave out the goodies for illegal aliens (a key objective of the Undermining Left); the issue can be construed as much broader than that when taken to its warped extremes, extended to everyone — aliens, children, everyone: http://lpa.igc.org/lpv12/lp7.html http://globalization.icaap.org/content/v3.1/10_declaration.html   "Let’s make it mean whatever we want it to mean"  (Lefty Magicians, LLC) http://www.americanconstitutionsociety.org/   Dave Simpson
