GAS OUT ON APRIL 30, 1999 – addtional notes – important, please read.

Boycott the following gas stations immediately. Don’t wait until April 30th !! Texaco Mobil Shell Oil Exxon Stop purchasing food products from all stations…This is a significant source of their revenues! We are all sick and tired of high prices when there are literally millions of gallons in storage. Know what I found out? If there was just ONE day when no one purchased any gasoline, prices would drop drastically. The so-called oil cartel has decided to slow production by some 2 million barrels per day to drive up the price. I have decided to see how many Americans and Canadians we can get to NOT BUY ANY GASOLINE on one particular day (more consecutive days the better)! Let’s have a "GAS OUT!" Do not buy any gasoline on APRIL 30, 1999!!!!! Buy Thursday before, if you need to.  Do not buy any gasoline on FRIDAY, APRIL 30, 1999. In fact, try to refrain from gas purchases as long as possible. Another annoyance factor to the gas companies is making small purchases, such as $5.00 worth of gas.  This is another way to protest after April 30, 1999.                 sdc Want to  help?  Send this message to everyone you know. The funny thing about all of this "gas out", is that the ‘organizers’ of this debacle really think that ;1)  That one day of not buying gas is going to send a message to anyone….they know and you know that even IF a majority were to participate in not buying gas for one day….the sales the previous day and the following day will even things out….no sales will be lost….not one dime….and 2) millions of people do not buy gas every day….most buy gas once a week….my guess is that maybe, with the exception of California, there will hardly be any difference to be noticed…. Here’s an idea….why don’t these unhappy people cancel their sacred vacations this year…no car trips, no plane trips, no Disney world, no Carribean cruises…stay home….save their money…  Park your car for a month…walk everywhere you need to go…or trade your hallowed Beemer in on a Schwinn….now there’s a message to send to the OPEC…..I’ll hold my breath to see if anyone REALLY wants to actually make a show of demonstration…ONE DAY?….my, what a sacrifice….If OPEC has an ISP….they are laughing their ass off!!! Where do these people come from??….no wonder our politicians are so out of touch…..they must go to school with these ‘organizers’ of ‘protests’….. Ah….what the heck….I think I’ll go start the SUV up….turn on the air….and go for a ride…..maybe I’ll find some corvette to race with…. ~Tony~

Yep….can’t argue with that….but my vote is but one…. The funny thing about all of this "gas out", is that the ‘organizers’ of this debacle really think that ;1)  That one day of not buying gas is going to send a message to anyone….they know and you know that even IF a majority were to participate in not buying gas for one day….the sales the previous day and the following day will even things out….no sales will be lost….not one dime….and 2) millions of people do not buy gas every day….most buy gas once a week….my guess is that maybe, with the exception of California, there will hardly be any difference to be noticed…. Even people who don’t have e-mail have been hearing about your "program"; our #1 local news (6:00) station had a feature on the Gas-Out on Tuesday, with the expected responses from the oil industry. Hard to say what impact it had, especially since we have one of the lower prices for gas in Canada at 58.9cents/litre, which works out to $2.65/gal!  We haven’t seen sub-two-dollar gas for years, and we are surrounded by oil wells in Alberta. Good luck with your campaign.
