Mother of GI shot to death in Iraq: "We cannot Ignore Anymore What is Going on In Iraq"

Question:

What?  He joined not expecting that he might go to combat? …

He joined to protect the USA, not get killed in Bush’s illegal invasion of a nation which had nothing to do with 9/11 and posed no threat.

Response:

McCafferey had joined the National Guard on the day after the Sept. 11 attacks with hopes of helping the country recover – he never expected to serve in combat. What?  He joined not expecting that he might go to combat?  (and spare the Bush National Guard shit here)

The National Guard has traditionally been used domestically for crises and disaster relief.  Only the Emperor Bush has pressed it into foreign adventurism. –Jeff — Americans will always do the right thing – after they have exhausted every other possibility.  –Winston Churchill Loyalty to the country always, loyalty to the government when it deserves it. –Mark Twain Rain on a tin roof sounds like a drum. We’re marching for freedom today-ay! So turn on your headlights and sound your horn, if people get in the way.  –Neil Innes

He was 34 years old and the father of two. His son is 9 years old. His daughter is 2 years old. McCafferey had joined the National Guard on the day after the Sept. 11 attacks with hopes of helping the country recover – he never expected to serve in combat. But in March his National Guard unit was deployed to Iraq. On June 22 he was shot dead alongside National Guard Lt. Andre Tyson of Riverside, California. His death received national attention last week when his mother Nadia McCaffrey invited the press to Sacramento International Airport to record images of his flag-draped coffin returning home. Since his body was flown in on a commercial flight, the Pentagon’s ban on photos of coffins did not apply.     * Nadia McCaffrey, her son Patrick died in Iraq two weeks ago today. click here for audio interview: http://play.rbn.com/?url=demnow/demnow/demand/2004/july/audio/dn20040… page w/links to both audio and video streams at the top: http://www.democracynow.org/article.pl?sid=04/07/06/1426228 = = = = STILL FEELING LIKE THE MAINSTREAM U.S. CORPORATE MEDIA IS GIVING A FULL HONEST PICTURE OF WHAT’S GOING ON? = = = = Daily online radio show, news reporting: www.DemocracyNow.org = = = = Sorry, we cannot read/reply to most usenet posts but welcome email For more information: http://EconomicDemocracy.org/wtc/ (peace) And http://EconomicDemocracy.org/ (general) ** ANTI-SPAM EMAIL NOTE: For email "info" and "map" don’t work.
