Fifteen army jeeps and armored troop carriers were deployed outside Arafat’s battered headquarters Friday afternoon, barring movement from and to the premises. The Israeli occupation authorities gave no explanation as to why the siege was imposed on the PA headquarters. However, an Israeli government spokesman said the "security measure" was not directed personally at Arafat. Palestinian youths hurled stones at the occupation forces and set rubber tires on fire. Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation army raided the Tulkarm refugee camp in the northern West Bank last night, killing one Palestinian security cadre. The Zionist-state run radio described the raid as " routine security activity." A Palestinian child was seriously injured Friday afternoon at the village of Ja’ba’a near Jenin in the northern West Bank when trigger-happy Israeli troops opened fire on a group of Palestinian children at the village’s entrance. In Gaza City, another Palestinian child has died of the wounds he sustained last week when an Israeli gunship attacked a Palestinian car, killing three Islamic Jihad activists. The Israeli occupation army has killed and maimed thousands of Palestinian civilians, including hundreds of children and minors, since the outbreak of the Palestinian intifada nearly three and a half years ago. The Israeli regime normally claims the killings are done unintentionally.
