Question:

Hallo!I invite all  to have a look to this excellent human rights site. Maximiliano Herrera’s human rights site is dedicated to the promotion of the democracy and the freedom worldwide. You can find it at: http://www.angelfire.com/ma/maxcrc It includes these pages: -Electoral Calendar which is a full, complete and updated list of the past and next elections around the world including presidential, legislative and local elections. It also includes popular referendums. -Freedom in the world is a list of all the independent countries ranked according their political freedoms and civil rights. It also includes an internal link to Freedom in the territories which ranks the nonindependent territories. -World Rank ranks all the independent countries accordig their standard of life. There are separeted rankings for each continent. -A world in trouble is the newest page and ranks all the independent countries according the perception of the risk of a coup or a conflict The site also includes several human rights links, forums and documents.Don t miss it!

I just visited the site but could not find an explanation of the Freedom ratings. On what are they based? I also noticed that there are only three classifications; FREE, PARTLY FREE, and NOT FREE. What, either precisely or in general, does each term mean? Also, I noticed some classifications which are at very best strange, if not inaccurate. For example, while it’s well known that Saudi Arabia, Sudan, and China are brutal Tyrannies, often well known for their public beheadings (at least the islamic ones) and torture, and Definitely NOT FREE in the least, therefore well deserving of the highest rating for Tyranny (which is apparently what the numbers indicate – the higher the number, the greater the Tyranny and Oppression), It’s also well known that the United States Incarcerates more of its Citizens per capita than any other nation on earth, the VAST MAJORITY for Totally Victimless Acts (TVAs) which ARE in Fact, PROTECTED by our Constitution, the Supreme Law of our Land, thus making it very clear that these inmates are in Effect POLITICAL PRISONERS. Yet the United States is is given a "PF" (Political Freedom?) rating of "1", and a "CR" (Civil Rights?) rating of "2"! HOW CAN THIS BE??? Unless this rating system is NONlinear (And if so, how?), HOW can such a GLARING Discrepancy be overlooked?

Doublespeak.  And a populace too stupid/apathetic/distracted or scared to challenge it.
