CREST BOYCOTT in 5th week
Question:
I’m in the process of trying to clean up the forum. I’m using some help and hopefully, within time, I will have a lot of these jerks who post here gone. I urge all the people here to keep careful watch on what goes on here. If you think that you would like to report anything then all you need to do is go to my web site. At the end of the introduction there are two mail links. One is to me, and the other is to some people who can help us. Together we can bring back the activist quality of this forum. We just need to stand together.. …. Be well…. Shalom, Nicole Maschke Land Mail: P.O. Don’t buy Crest! That’s the message being put out by Voices of Victims of Malpractice, a Canadian consumer group. Crest is being criticized for making millions of dollars using the Canadian Dental Association to endorse Crest toothpaste at a time when there is an epidemic of consumer complaints against dentists who are members of this organization. Maureen Rivington, a founding member of Voices of Victims of Malpractice, alleges she was lied to, yelled at, and treated as hysterical when she took her complaint against a dentist to Dr. Roy Thordarson, Registrar of the BC College of Dental Surgeons and a prominent member of the Canadian Dental Assoc. Dr. Thordarson’s secretary, Mary Beauchamp, is on record as stating that Dr. Thordarson instructed her to "just hang up" on women such as Rivington who persistently call back. As well, The Vancouver Women’s Health Collective claims that they receive consistent feedback from women indicating that they are being treated as hysterical when making complaints to the BC College of Dental Surgeons (all dental staff at the BC College are members of the Cdn. Dental Assoc.) The Canadian Dental Association has been asked to ensure that their members no longer dismiss female complainants by treating them as hysterical. Through their public representative, L.Burke, the CDA has stated that they are unconcerned about this issue and will take no action to encourage changes in the way women complainants are treated. Crest has been asked to stop using the Canadian Dental Assoc. to endorse their toothpaste. Call Crest toll free if you wish to tell them you will not buy Crest toothpaste. 1-800-668-0152
