I’ve seen Susan Estrich on TV a lot lately. At least once during each appearance, she has claimed that she was a rape victim. Does anyone out there know if her attacker was caught and prosecuted? If not, how do we know that she was really raped? After all, claiming to be a rape victim would give her a higher standing in the NOW crowd. On her part, it is simply wishful thinking. The only human being in the world uglier than her would be Molly "The 1952 Buick Face" Ivins. One of the most enjoyable things about being 65 is watching the younger generations make the same dumb mistakes, the same stupid assumptions, buy the same political scams and fall for the same societal gimmicks and not having a clue as to what is really going on. Let me try to help you in understanding Susan Estrich. You see, it is not important whether her attacker was caught or not, or whether she even reported the rape or not. For years, while she was waving the feminist flag, she occasionally referred to her rape, and to its importance in her life and how it had delivered unto her a knowledge of how the world worked against women that no white man could ever hope to understand. Now, Estrich’s many years ago rape echoed and reverberates to this day. But wait. Comes along Juanita Broaddrick who tells publicly a story she first told in the hours after she was raped twenty years ago. That, you see, is just too long ago for Estrich. Even though it is obvious, in listening to Broaddrick re-tell the story, that this rape echoes and reverberates traumatically inside her to this day, Estrich doesn’t want to know the details.
