For a start, I couldn’t be bothered to waste time trying to ascertain where it was crossposted (which group) from. So in this instance… sheer bone idleness. If cross-posting messages is so horrible, why have you done it?
There are degress of horribleness associated with crossposting, the highest, or lowest if you like, is the initiation of a crossposted thread. On the one occasion that I initiated a large post to multiple groups I took pains to post to each group individually so that any reply’s would not get contaminated. There is serious method in this madness. Not only atr you a hateful person, but you are a hypocrite.
I can’t disagree with that. I absolutely hold to there being one rule for myself and a different one for all others. Besides, I was born and bred in a country famous for its hypocrites and may even have been named after the hero of "Scarlett and Black" by Stendahl. I’ll check with my mum. BTW I responded to the original message from UK.Religion.Misc and it was crossposted to… alt.religion.christian.adventist,alt.religion.christian.baptist, alt.religion.christian.pentecostal,alt.religion.christian.lutheran, alt.religion.christian.methodist,alt.religion.christian.presbyterian, alt.religion.christian.episcopal,alt.religion.christian.roman-cataolic,alt. r eligion.christian,alt.religion.clergy, uk.religion.misc,talk.religion.misc,alt.christnet,alt.christnet.evangelical so somehow we have lost a few on the way. A good example of the messiness of crossposted threads.
