Involuntary cover-up

Question:

… Can anybody out there tell me what scrapes over a tattoo might do to it once they’ve healed?  Fortunately for me the scrapes aren’t over any of my tats, but I was just curious.

I had a minor RTA a couple of years back, and got grazes on one of my shoulder tats. It’s still recognisable, but a bit smudged. Well, a bit more than the rest, which is suffering from a mixture of being rather detailed celtic and maybe not quite enough attention from Lal. I’ll probably get the whole thing touched up sometime, maybe taking some of the detail out to make it more able to last, and be understood without having to look really close. There again it may get involved in the back / torso piece that I toy with designing every so often. …The scratches on my shoulder that happened whilst the Chernobyl rain was falling seem to have faded at last… Dan Brighton, England

Hey, what happens when you get a cut where your tat is? just wondering ~~~AnnaBanana People call me a feminist whenever I express sentiments that differentiate me from a doormat or a prostitute.                                 ~~~Rebecca West There’s just something about an anatomically correct rubber suit that makes me wild                                 ~~~PoisonIvy

Response:

You get a scar just like everyplace else. When it’s healed , white, not pink, go back to the artist and see what can be done.
