Abortion is anti-female!

Question:

Abortion is anti-female! China’s compulsory abortion policy has resulted in 70 million men having to live without wives. Too many men, not enough women. The females have all been killed in their mother’s womb! This has also resulted in the current practive of buying and selling women like a commodity. (See http://www.ewtn.com/vnews/getstory.asp?number=42629, a news report confirming these facts and announcing that China is about to ease its policy a little.) And from http://www1.50megs.com/angband/mumkill.html: "Doctors William Divale and Marvin Harris carried out a worldwide analysis of child census figures in 160 societies. Their analysis was published in "American Anthropologist". It was found that the overall gender ratio in these societies was 128 boys to 100 girls. In "The History of Child Abuse", DeMause refers to this analysis, saying "Since a near equal number of both sexes are born, and girls are always more hardy than boys, the excess of boys means that these groups must be practising differential female infanticide". Ultrasound merely allows for this murderous prejudice against females to be carried out earlier than birth. It is ironic indeed that pro-abortionists say they are "defending women’s rights" when they are promoting abortion. When we examine the figures, abortion reveals itself to be an attack on female rights, an attack on their right to go on living. Wherever abortion has been allowed, females are killed more frequently than males."

: : I agree with you in that abortion is wrong.  However, I also think that : feminism is a different argument (even though they do cross paths on : occasion). : : The abortions in China do seem to be related to feminist issues, but China : isn’t the only place that abortions are taking place. : : Do you know what the ratio of women to men is?  Though I don’t have the : current stats, I do recall it was like 3:1.  This would indicate that in : all likelihood, it is not a 50/50 chance of having a boy vs girl baby, : but rather 25(boy)/75(girl).  So there is real truth in the argument : that with all the abortions going on, 2 things are occuring. Sorry James, without "culling" for sex selection, live births are pretty close to a 1:1 relationship.  Slightly more boys are conceived by nature, but by nature males are more likely to be miscarried or in a bit more fragile health than girls at birth.  [That short "Y" DNA doesn't help if there's no "backup gene" to help with a faulty "X" trait.] Karen

I’m not trying to argue with you.  We both agree that abortion is wrong. That’s good.  I’m just trying to say that abortion is not ONLY against women.  It’s against women, true.  But, it’s also against deformed children, unwanted children and yes, boys too.  It may be true that there are more girls in comparison, but lets remember the bigger picture too.  It’s against people. I don’t recall the Scripture referance off the top of my head (I think its in Isaiah) but it is predicted that the ratio will be seven women to one man. So the reverse is coming.
