At Home.com drops rec.guns boundary="————11869D64EE34254486FC88D7"

Question:

For two or more weeks I could not open the news group rec.guns. When I attempted to open it, Netscape closed. I assumed that I had a software problems. I worked on that tact until I found that my old dial up ISP’s news server opened it without a problem. Then I called my cable that the news group had been dropped for lack of interest. Since I’d correctness was at play. I have emailed the home office at newsatcorp.home.net to ask them to reinstate that news group. If their decision represents an attack in the culture wars, then we might ask that others first email and then boycott their television and Internet service as well as owning stock in their company. The NRA might consider starting it’s own mutual fund company that allows the member-investor to avoid owning stocks in companies that use the corporate decisions to make social policy.   You’re very probably right.  Newsgroups in the rec.* heirarchy aren’t usually dropped.  They might be expired more quickly, but rarely dropped. The alt.* category, though, that’s a different matter…. steve Visit the rec.hunting and rec.hunting.dogs FAQ Home Page at:         http://sportsmansweb.com/hunting/

Great post Bill! I think that it is becoming common to portray hunters and gun owners in the wrong fashion. Probably some PETA nut got a job with the home office and made some "executive level" decision to pull the plug on that ng. I am thinking more seriously about activism to see that hunters, etc. are being given a fair shake……. Joel A. —- Actually, this sounds like a great idea and something I would be very interested in. I’m not sure the NRA is the best or only institution suited to offer a mutual fund but, if they did I would still go for it. I expect there is an already existing list of companies sympathetic/unsympathetic to firearms rights. Does anyone know where such a list could be found?
